1989
SINCE 1989
The Dirtbag identity was born from a team that embraced hard work, resilience, and doing more with less. Practicing on an all-dirt field and playing without a permanent home field, the 1989 team won its first 18 games and advanced to Long Beach State's first College World Series.
That spirit became something bigger than a nickname. It became a standard.
WHAT MAKES A DIRTBAG?
Being a Dirtbag was the best decision of my life and going out there on Friday nights with a packed crowd, there was no better rush.
